Commodore Books is an imprint of LINEbooks, and operates under the umbrella of the West Coast Review Publishing Society, a non-profit society. All proceeds go to the authors and towards funding further titles.
Our name alludes to The Commodore, the paddle steamer that transported thirty-five black migrants from San Francisco to Victoria in the spring of 1858, during the Gold Rush. This small pioneer committee became the nucleus of British Columbia’s black community.
