Canada Law Book

Since 1855, Canada Law Book has been a leading law publisher known for having the highest editorial standards and authors who are among Canada’s most prominent legal scholars.

Continuing our tradition of excellence, Canada Law Book has been redefining the nature of legal online services in Canada in recent years by launching new elegant research and current awareness resources, combining our highly regarded authored materials with case law content.  We have also been enhancing our older CD ROM and online services to ensure that they continue to meet your needs.

An important development is that, as of April 1, 2008, our law reports (Dominion Law Reports since 1912, Canadian Criminal Cases since 1898, Canadian Patent Reporter since 1941 and Labour Arbitration Cases since 1948) and our summaries (All-Canada Weekly Summaries, Weekly Criminal Bulletin and several others) will no longer be available on LexisNexis Quicklaw.

Though these resources are already available from Canada Law Book in various other online services, we are also launching a new service, to be called BestCase, which will include the content we had on Quicklaw plus a comprehensive collection of unreported decisions. Some of the reported cases included in BestCase are not likely available from any other source.

An exciting and unique feature of BestCase is the inclusion of PDF images of the pages in our law reports which can be downloaded and attached to factums or otherwise presented in court without the need to photocopy from the print volumes.

We are also proud to tell you that going forward we are endeavouring to use paper for our print publications that has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which supports environmentally appropriate and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

We invite you to explore our electronic catalogue by clicking on the home page and searching under Product Information and Ordering.

At Canada Law Book we look forward to continuing to develop resources that meet the changing information needs of the legal community.
